Сolby played baseball for Alan Hancock College and made All Western State Conference First Team.  After the college season was over he played for the Santa Barbara Foresters, a semi-pro team.  The team went on to win the National Baseball Congress [NBC] World Series which in held in Wichita, KS on August 13, 2016.  The night before they had to play a semifinal game in which Colby drove in the tying run in the 8th inning with a pitch-hit double.  They went on to win the game and played for the championship the next day.  Colby is now enrolled at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is the starting right fielder.
